BB Youth Squad Selection 2023/24

Aged 7-14 and keen to be a competition boulderer for the 2023/24 season? Running on the first 3 Saturday mornings in August

We have a few spaces on our Youth Squad competition climbing teams in the coming year 2023/24 and we are holding trials on Saturday mornings through August

What we do:

• Twice weekly coaching and training on weekend mornings 08:00 to 10:00 and Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons 17:00-18:00
• Membership to Boulder Brighton to allow for extra climbing sessions through the week
• BB coach at competitions such as Blokfest and a bouldering round of the BMC Youth Climbing Series
• Two annual outdoor bouldering trips to Portland and the Peak District
• The cost is £60 per calendar month setup on a recurring payment basis

What we are looking for:

• 7 to 14 years
• Keen to climb regularly (3 times a week)
• Keen to take part in climbing competitions - these can be high pressure, stressful environments involving travel and cost
• Motivated and super psyched to boulder

What are these trials sessions:
These are instructed sessions for 7 to 14yr olds looking to be selected for the Youth Squad at Boulder Brighton. They are an hour and half long and participants will be asked to do a set of competition blocs of varied difficulty. The instructor will guide and work with the participants to see how they respond to coaching. We will run 6 sessions on Saturday mornings in August. If you are interested you should book onto just one of those sessions. At the end of August we will invite the successful few to join the squad from September on. Please be aware that spaces on the squad are very limited and we are looking for a good spread of ages so in some categories competition will be fierce.
