YOGA

Yoga is an excellent complementary activity to climbing. It can help improve your flexibility, core strength, and focus - all essential qualities for good climbing technique. We are now hosting yoga classes at Boulder Brighton in our upstairs training room so that you can incorporate yoga into your regular routine.

Tuesday morning Yoga

Tuesday morning class, 09:30-10:30

Leo is a Senior Yoga Teacher and Mentor in the Vajrasati School of Yoga, and also an enthusiastic climber.

Leo’s teaching is accessible and adaptive; students are encouraged to progress safely at their own pace, building up intuition and trust as much as strength, tone and flexibility.

Vajrasati yoga encourages students to creatively explore and unlock held tension and patterns in the body through yoga asana, ‘poses’, which may be dynamic or slow and held, depending on the needs of the individual, as well as breath work and meditation techniques that can evolve greater focus and stamina for climbing.

Leo will develop classes around particular themes – hip flexors, shoulder mobility, core strength, body balance and alignment, etc – as well as offering simple warm up and warm down routines, and stretches suitable for between climbs, allowing you to develop mat to wall.

Vajrasati yoga is for every body – whatever your level of experience or flexibility. Let Leo know if you have particular injuries so she can adapt the practise for you too.
