Staff Instructor or Duty Manager (Weekends+)

Application Deadline: Sunday 5th Dec
16-28 hours per week, including regular weekend shifts.
Pay: £11.24-£12.26 per hour depending on role (£23,380-£25,500 pro-rata per annum).

We're looking for a customer service role as a weekend Instructor or Duty Manager. For either role the emphasis is on serving customers at reception to welcome them to the Boulder Brighton community. The smooth operation of the centre will include customer service, cleaning and café work in addition to any instruction and management tasks.

For the Instructor role you will be instructing kids groups, induction sessions and more advanced coaching. You must share our passion for bringing bouldering to a diverse range of ages, backgrounds and abilities.

For the Duty Manager role you will additionally be responsible for the operation of the centre during your time at work. This will include overseeing the smooth running of reception, café facilities, group sessions and general customer climbing. You will be responsible for a team of centre staff, cash handling and at times will be in sole charge of the premises. A respectful management style, climbing experience, the ability to take the initiative and excellent organisation skills are essential.

For either position, you will have a valid climbing instructor qualification (e.g. CWI / RCI) and be able to instruct group sessions as part of your role.

We would expect all freelance instructors to be fully qualified (CWI or RCI minimum), hold a valid First Aid certificate, be experienced in working with young people and have their own public liability insurance.
