We're looking for an experienced instructor and team player to join our staff as a Duty Manager. It's a varied role that combines bouldering instruction and coaching with the everyday running of the centre and management of the staff on each shift.
As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the operation of the centre during your time at work. This will include overseeing the smooth running of reception, café facilities, group sessions and general customer climbing. You will be responsible for a team of centre staff, cash handling and at times will be in sole charge of the premises. A respectful management style, climbing experience, the ability to take the initiative and excellent organisation skills are essential.
In addition, you will also from time to time be instructing kids groups, induction sessions and more advanced coaching. You must share our passion for bringing bouldering to a diverse range of ages, backgrounds and abilities.
To qualify for the role you should have a valid climbing instructor qualification (e.g. CWI / RCI) and be able to instruct group sessions as part of your role.
Part-time applicants should be able to work regularly at weekends (e.g. one day every weekend, or alternating a full weekend on and a full weekend off each fortnight).
Full-time applicants should be able to work weekends (as per the part-time hours), but also be available to work during the week, including some weekday evening shifts.
