Our planning application was approved
A few months ago we asked for your help to secure the future of Boulder Brighton at our current location by supporting our planning application for permanent change of use. The response was overwhelming, with more than 200 people taking the time to send a message of support. And the result was a resounding approval from the planning team!
We're so grateful to be part of such a great climbing community here, as shown by this support as well as the fantastic support we've seen over the last couple of years throughout the covid pandemic. It really means a lot, so thank you all. We're looking forward to even better times ahead.
Big love, James & Tom
PS - there isn't enough space to list all the messages we received below, but we've picked out a few of our favourites 🙏:
Boulder Brighton is a fantastic part of the local community and a vital part of mine and many other's lives. From first time climbers to people representing their country in competition, Boulder Brighton welcomes all with open arms. I would be lost without it.
The climbing centre has become my main motivation for taking care of my health and wellbeing, as well as a friendly and wholesome place to meet friends and people from the local community. Long may it continue!
Boulder Brighton has been an important part of my life since it opened in 2013. Not only have I stayed active and fit whilst climbing there but I have watched both my Daughter and son grow in confidence and mature into amazing young adults in the healthy environment created by this bouldering centre. There are not many places where adults, young and old, youths and children of all ages can share, practice and enjoy a sport together that encourages a healthy lifestyle and lasting friendships. I hope Boulder Brighton will be around for many years to come.
Amazing use of space, a real asset to the community. Wonderful place to exercise whilst having fun. Lovely staff who clearly put a lot of thought and care into the place, regularly setting new and challenging routes to complete! I hope this place can continue to run for many years to come!
This place is amazing.
Boulder Brighton is an absolute pillar of the community. I have regularly used the centre for many years, with lovely staff and a lovely safe facility. Brighton would suffer a gigantic loss if this climbing centre was not allowed to continue its amazing work!
There is a brilliant community at Boulder Brighton, it has helped my physical and mental wellbeing!! I've made lots of friends here and met my boyfriend here. It's a huge part of my life! Words can't describe how much I love climbing at Boulder Brighton!!!
I go to boulder brighton a few times a week. It is so insanely important to me, not only because i absolutely love bouldering but also because it is full of welcoming, lovely people and really helps me feel better when i am going through tricky times. The whole bouldering mindset and atmosphere and the challenges have developed me as a person so much.
BB is a place I use several times a week. I meet friends and keep fit there. It's had a hugely positive impact on my life over the past 3 years, physically, mentally and socially.
Integral part of local community. Supports the physical and mental health of so many.
I fully support Boulder Brighton to stay in this location, I learned to climb here and as a foreigner I made more friends here then anywhere else in Brighton! please allow them to stay.
Great place, which has an amazing community which I'd love to stay part of
Boulder Brighton as a sport and social place has truely made an enormous and positive difference in my life and those of my children.
I've never experienced such a great community as I have within Boulder Brighton. Its so incredibly supportive, everyone is from different backgrounds, its massively inclusive too. Everyone is so welcoming
I've made so many new friends and have never been as strong as I am now. I've got my kids coming down there now too. Its got so many important lessons for them, such as resilience and problem solving.
Boulder Brighton is a unique and wonderful centre for bouldering allowing the community of climbers whether novice or expert to come together in a safe and accepting space. The centre is vital to many as a place where they can come and feel like part of a larger community.
It has such a strong community and like many I would be at a loss without it.
The centre is a community hub, a safe and important space in my and so many people's lives. The centre is incredibly friendly, inclusive, welcoming and offers people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to grow, challenge themselves, connect with others that they wouldn't otherwise cross paths with, and become healthier. Many people, myself included, would feel lost without it, and it would be a huge loss to the city if it were to disappear.
Boulder Brighton is a fantastic place and really helps bring the community together! The staff are great and the centre offers a chance to try something new!
For me, the centre has been invaluable as a place to exercise and take friends. It's been a big factor in my physical and mental well being over the past few years.
I absolutely love Boulder Brighton. I go three times a week and can't imagine my life without it! It's a really wonderful business run by wonderful people.
Fantastic business which has quite literally been life changing! Boulder Brighton is where I am able to reconnect and feel stronger physically and mentally. It is a family friendly organisation where people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and cultures share a common interest and help each other. It has helped me and my family through the pandemic, it gives me goals and a huge sense of achievement! Please support its change of use so it can continue to grow and make a difference to its local community.
Boulder Brighton has had a profoundly positive effect on my life. I consider it a second home and I have no idea what I'd do without it.
