Summer Build Work!

Works planned 26 Jun to 12 Jul

From 26th June to 12th July we will be rebuilding the far right hand walls (from the Lab down to the old Nose area), with that whole area out of action for the period. During the first week there will be a fair bit of building noise as the walls get rebuilt, then the second week should be much calmer as we mainly wait for the paint to dry. We're restricting the number of groups and induction sessions during this period to make more space for our regulars.

We're also re-matting the WHOLE centre, so the whole place will feel like it's had a facelift once things get back to normal.

Apologies in advance for the disruption, but we hope the final results will be worth it! Also apologies in advance to the slackline fans, as sadly we'll be retiring our slackline as part of these works to make space for more climbing and circulation. We've loved having the line at the centre but we've made the tough decision to bid it farewell 🥲.

Some dates for the diary:

Mon 26th Jun - far right hand end of the centre will be cordoned off for climbing until the end of the works. Rest of the centre will be open as usual.
Mon 26th Jun 9-10am - we will have used V38 100mm blue foam sheets and pieces from our old matting available to take. There will be roughly 150 sqm of this and we would love to see it go to good homes so if you want some just arrange to collect it between 9 and 10am - please email [email protected] with the rough amount you are looking for.
Mon 10th Jul - the whole of the RHS of the centre including the Prow, Slab, Cave, former Nose, Groove slab and Lab will be out of action as we replace the matting. No pay-as-you-go entries, only monthly members and multi-pack holders for climbing in the LHS and use of the upstairs room.
Tue 11th Jul, the whole centre CLOSED as we complete the replacement of all of our matting.
Wed 12th Jul - centre open again, with routesetting and finishing touches happening in the new RHS area.
Thu 13th Jul - all disruption should be over with the new area fully open and new matting throughout.
