Open again from April 12th, but don't arrange to climb with people not from your own household
From 12th April, we can re-open the centre as part of Step 2 of the governments Roadmap for easing the national lockdown. This is great news and we're very pleased to be able to reopen. As part of the new Step 2 rules, you're very welcome to come for a climb, but you should not arrange to meet people from outside your own household at the centre (or any other indoor space). Our café will also only be open for takeaway service. The current rules are therefore very similar to those in place when Brighton was in Tier 2 back in December.
When in the centre, you should make sure to keep at least 2m apart from others not from your own household. We will continue to significantly restrict the capacity of the centre to allow everyone to do this.
We know these social distancing rules are frustrating for everyone, but we're just very excited to be able to open again so we hope everyone will help us keep to the rules.
Formal instructed sessions for U18s have been granted some exemptions from these rules, so the limited amount of youth instruction we have previously been able to restart can continue as per the end of last year. The bulk of our instructed groups (e.g. Boulder Academy sessions) are still on hold for the time being, unfortunately.
Help us keep the centre safe and open by following our main Covid rules:
⛔ Roadmap Step 2: don't arrange to climb with people not from your own household
👨👩👧👦 Maintain 2m social distance from people not in your household at all times
💦 Wash or sanitise your hands on the way in, during your climb, and on the way out
😷 Wearing a face mask is mandatory, unless you're actively climbing, eating or drinking
