New area open!

Our summer build work has finished

We're very excited to be able to open up our newly rebuilt climbing area on the right hand side of the centre slightly ahead of schedule today. Thanks to everyone who has put up with the building works over the past couple of the weeks, we hope you like the finished result! We present: Steep Corner and Bullseye Slab.

These new walls take the place of the old walls on the far right hand side, from the Lab, through Groove Slab and up to the old Nose. The new area has a long run of gentle overhang (about 7 degrees) and a techy hanging slab feature. The first set went up today, we'll have some more photos and video to share from the new routes soon.

We've also completely overhauled all of the matting throughout the centre, which is now beautifully bright, neat and level. They will feel firmer than our old mats while they bed in, so we recommend taking it easy for your first few sessions on them until you get a feel for the new landing.

More routsetting this Friday, then we'll be back to our normal setting schedule with the Chalice Area on Monday.
