Remodelling work in Duck Bay starts Sat 22nd July
Changes are afoot! Starting this Saturday 22nd July we'll be doing some remodelling work on the left hand side of the centre. This section of wall has been largely untouched since we opened in 2013 and it's time to show it some love. We'll be stripping the walls, re-panelling the climbing surfaces, adding a new bulging feature around the training area arete, filling in parts of the Duck's bill, creating a new rounded corner section and adding some new campus rungs and training slopers into the training area. And giving it all a lovely new coat of paint.
It's a fairly big job and although we've tried to pick one of the quietest times of the year, it will inevitably cause some disruption, with all these areas out of action for over 2 weeks while we build and let the paint cure. We'll try to move a couple of the key bits of training equipment out of the training area to a new temporary location for the duration. Most of the comp wall and the whole right hand side of the centre will be open as usual for climbing during this time.
Please bear with us until 9th August when we should be able to unveil the whole thing with a bumper set of new climbs attached. It's all part of our commitment to keeping things fresh and exciting here at BB - next year, new comp wall??? :D
